I am writing this post as a warning for Gavin's future wife. Gavin can make some of the sweetest cards for just about every occasion. He will always write a really nice message inside, BUT he never seems to deliver them until a week or even a month after the occasion. A lot of the time I will find them when I decide to clean out his backpack. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate his thoughtfulness, it just makes me laugh.

My baby is 5 years old!!!!
Yes I have FINALLY put up a new post. I know that it has been forever and I can't figure out why, but my baby turning 5 is something I HAVE to blog about. Yesterday I was trying to remember the details of Lillian birth and couldn't believe how much I had forgotten. It seemed that I could remember more about my older kids than hers. That night I attending our Relief Society Birthday celebration where a guest speaker talked about family history, and I was feeling so guilty that I had not recorded my thoughts 5 years ago when I should have. I gave up on blogging about it last night and went to bed very frustrated. After a night of sleeping on it and realizing that my memory was only going to get worse I kept trying to remember more details. I have come the the conclusion that Lilli's pregnancy made a much bigger impact on my memory than her delivery. After having Jade, Matt thought that 3 was a great number for our family and we should be done. However I was not completely convinced that I was done having kids. I was serving as assistant camp director in my ward in A.F. when I became pregnant with Lilli. I was headed to camp and fully expecting to get my monthly visitor when much to my relief and surprise it never came. Time had come to start my new packet of birth control pills and still no visitor. Matt was convinced that it was from the stress of girls camp but we decided I had better take a pregnancy test to be sure. This part I remember so vividly. Jade was 10 month old playing in the bathtub when I took the test and yes, it was positive. I remember looking at her in shock and wondering, how could I be pregnant when I already had a baby sitting right in front of me? After the initial shock I reminded myself that I wasn't having the baby the next day and Jade had 8 1/2 months to grow. My pregnancy was going really great. My biggest complaint was the heartburn, and when I wasn't putting on a lot of weight(15 pounds total) my doctor let me take some medication so I felt like eating. I was about 7 months pregnant when I had a scare. I was getting ready for the day and the next thing I knew there was a good amount of blood. I frantically called Matt who hurried home from work and took me to the hospital. Fortunately everything looked OK, but the doctor wanted me to take it easy for a few days. Matt's family was doing the annual Disneyland trip in February and my doctor did not want us to go, but we couldn't stand to miss out so I did Disneyland in a wheelchair that year (we never told my doctor). This is where it gets a little hazy. We went to the hospital in the morning and I can't remember being in much pain so I think that I was given my epidural pretty early. I remember mine and Matt's Mom were there with us, and both of our Dads were waiting outside the room. Everything went so smooth that Matt remembers his Mom making the comment that it looked so easy and we should do it again. Our little Lillian was a healthy 8lb 6oz baby born on March 17th. Lilli hates to be called the baby but fits that spot perfectly. Lilli can't wait to do all the things her brother and sisters do. I think that she get bored being home all day with me, but she will come up to me during the day and say "I haven't gotten a kiss from you today" and give me a kiss. I am so glad we were given such a wonderful surprise.
Sorry if this was way more information then you wanted to hear, but I wanted to get it written down for Lilli to have in the future.
2nd day at the hospital.
Most of you know that Lilli is a gum addict. Notice the gum, that is what you find on most of her plates. I guess she only liked the frosting on her Birthday cake.
HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY
We love you!
